Gurgaon 5 May, 2017: SpiceJet, India’s favourite budget airline,
announced the addition of Patna as the latest station on its domestic network effective
1st July 2017. This is the first time that the airline will be serving the destination
with both direct and onward connections. With this new sector, the airline will now
cover 41 destinations across India. Tickets for sale are now open.
Starting 1st July 2017, the airline will operate daily direct flights to the new sectors
of Patna-Mumbai, Patna-Kolkata, Patna-Hyderabad and Patna-Bengaluru. The airline has
deployed its Boeing 737 fleet for the new station.
The onward connections for the new station include Patna to Surat via Kolkata and Patna
to Chennai via Hyderabad through daily flights. SpiceJet also plans to introduce double
daily direct flights from Patna to Delhi soon.
One of the oldest cities of the world, Patna, the capital of Bihar, has a rich
historical culture attached to it and it is also an emerging business centre. The city,
popular for multiple historical monuments and artefacts dating back to the BC era, is
also the gateway to other tourist hotspots such as Vaishali, Rajgir, Nalanda, Bodh Gaya
among others.
