GURGAON, June 20, 2016: SpiceJet, the country’s favourite low-cost
carrier, continues to lead the Passenger Load Factor (PLF) charts among all Indian
carriers by clocking over 90% PLF for 13 successive months. The figure for the month of
May 2016 stood at 93.5%, an industry best figure, as per the statistics released by
DGCA. This is also the airline’s highest ever PLF.
The On-time Performance (OTP) of the airline during the same month stood at 79.2%. OTP
has been computed for its operations across the four metro airports of Bangalore,
Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. SpiceJet operated 306 daily flights and carried 10.96 lakh
passengers during the month thereby registering a market share of 12.6%. Flight
cancellations rate for the carrier during May 2016 was just 0.31%.
