Hyderabad, 16 February, 2016: SpiceJet, India’s favourite budget
airline, today Inaugurated its first non-stop flight between Hyderabad and Dubai. The
airline announced that it will be operating a daily flight service on this route.
SpiceJet’s Boeing 737NG aircraft upon its arrival at Hyderabad from Dubai at 6:30 PM
was welcomed by the traditional grand water cannon salute. As a warm gesture, SpiceJet
greeted all the passengers in the inaugural flight with rose buds to mark the occasion.
The ceremony organized at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad was initiated
with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony by the Chief Guest, Mr. Mohammad Mahmood Ali
- Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister of Telangana. Among other distinguished dignitaries who
graced the occasion with their presence as Guests of Honor were Mr. Etala Rajender,
Minister for Finance & Planning, Government of Telangana, Mr. Bontu Rammohan, Mayor
Hyderabad City and Mr. Koppel Eshwar, Chief WHIP. This was then followed by
lamp-lighting ceremony by the eminent dignitaries which also included Mr. Manish Sinha
COO-GHIAL. The evening finally came to a conclusion with cake cutting ceremony attended
by the distinguished guests and airline staff members. The entire ceremony was presided
over by Mr. Kamal Hingorani, Sr. VP & Head of Inflight Services and Customer
Experience, SpiceJet.
The flight schedule on the route has been slotted to suit the convenience of the
business travelers in particular, so as to allow them to make the most of every working
day.
Commemorating the flight launch, Mr. Kamal Hingorani - Sr. VP & Head of Inflight
Services and Customer Experience, SpiceJet said, “We are extremely happy
to announce our first international flight from Hyderabad. This makes it the tenth
daily departure to Dubai from across India. We now intend to explore other
international routes from Hyderabad as well”
Dubai is one of SpiceJet’s six international destinations – Bangkok, Colombo, Dubai,
Kabul , Male (Maldives) and Muscat and with the launch, SpiceJet now serves non-stop
flights to Dubai from ten Indian cities: Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur,
Kochi, Kozhikode, Madurai, Mumbai and Pune and with connections from Tier 2 and Tier 3
cities, besides Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata.
SpiceJet has topped the on-time performance for January 2016, among all full-grown
carriers operating from Hyderabad. This is the second consecutive month that the
airline has achieved this feat from the Hyderabad airport.
The airline has registered an OTP of 87% during the month which is also an improvement
from its December 2015 OTP of 82.2% for Hyderabad
