SpiceJet announces 14 new domestic flights
Reiterates commitment for tier-II towns with new direct flights and additional frequencies effective 1st July
  • Introduces new direct flights for Pune-Patna, Chennai-Rajahmundry, Hyderabad-Calicut and Bengaluru-Tuticorin sectors

GURUGRAM, June 18 2018: SpiceJet, the country’s favourite carrier, today announced the launch of 14 new domestic flights. Reiterating its commitment for direct connectivity and on-boarding non-metros and smaller cities onto the national aviation map, the airline has introduced a slew of new flights and frequencies effective 1st July.

Deploying a mix of its fleet of Boeing 737 and Bombardier Q-400 aircraft on the routes the airline will further strengthen its network across South and West India with these new flights.

Effective 1st July the airline is all set to introduce new direct flights on the Pune-Patna, Chennai-Rajahmundry, Hyderabad-Calicut and Bengaluru-Tuticorin sectors. Additionally SpiceJet will also enhance its operations on the Delhi-Patna (second frequency), Bengaluru-Rajahmundry (second frequency) and Mumbai-Bengaluru (fifth frequency) sectors with non-stop additional frequencies.

Ms. Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Sales & Revenue Officer - SpiceJet, said, “We are rapidly expanding our fleet with new Boeing 737 aircraft and Q400 regional turboprops. This means addition of new routes and destinations for our customers with non-stop flights. Reiterating SpiceJet’s commitment to ‘direct connectivity’ the new flights will offer great synergies for travel from non-metros and small cities to a host of destinations on the domestic and international network via multiple onward connections.”

The new flights introduced on the Delhi-Patna, Mumbai-Bengaluru, and Chennai-Rajahmundry sectors will be operational daily. Whereas the frequencies introduced on the Hyderabad-Calicut, Bengaluru-Tuticorin and Bengaluru-Rajahmundry routes will be operational on all days except Tuesdays. Patna-Pune will be operational on all days except Saturday.

The airline has been pitching for more flights to non- metros and smaller cities from major airports in the country. With the new flights, passengers from the relatively small towns like Rajahmundry, Patna, Tuticorin and Calicut can now also easily travel to a host of other cities both on SpiceJet’s domestic as well as international network via multiple onward connections from key metros like Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Bookings for tickets are now open on www.spicejet.com, SpiceJet’s mobile app and through online travel portals and travel agents.
