Gurgaon, 24 July, 2016: India’s favourite budget airline has
facilitated the travel of 20 female students and two teachers of Mawar Valley J & K
organised by the Indian Army for Operation Sadbhavna. The annual educational tour saw
the kids visiting various important places in Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Dehradun and
Amritsar involving all modes of transport many of them for the first time be it Volvo
Buses, trains, Delhi Metro and completing the journey on a SpiceJet Boeing from
Amritsar to Srinagar.
Planned by the Dagger division of Chinar Corps under Operation Sadhbhavana the annual
program endeavoured by the Indian Army exposes young girls to the country's diverse
culture, religion, scientific and technological advancements thereby incorporating the
feeling of oneness and belongingness in them. It is also programmed with the aim to
expose young children to the numerous career options available so as to broaden their
horizon for a better future to be amongst the cream and main stream of the country.
The tour was flagged off by Commander TMG Brigade from Naugam. The children departed
from Srinagar to Delhi on 11th July and will fly in from Amritsar on 24 July.
In the course of the tour, the children were taken to various industrial plants, places
of interest , training institutes and museums. Apart from meeting some of the renowned
sports personalities, the students were also taken to the Indian Military Academy,
Dehradun. The Tribune printing press in Chandigarh, Fun Republic Cinemas in Manimajra,
Kingdom of dreams Gurgaon renowned girl’s schools / colleges, NIFT other army
establishments and shopping markets were a few of the other significant pit stops of
the tour
Colonel Dharamjit Singh Nagil Staff Officer 'Sadhbhavana' Indian Army

Army driving a noble intent of educating and motivating ‘young India’ and preparing

Organised on an annual basis by the Indian Army ‘Operation Sadbhavna’ is laying a strong
foundation for the ‘young India’ strengthening their bonds with rest of the country
while providing them the opportunity to represent their state to the rest of the
nation.
