Gurgaon, 18 August, 2014: SpiceJet today announced the resumption of
flights to Bangkok, with a new daily flight from Kolkata. SpiceJet used to earlier
operate to Bangkok from Bengaluru and Pune. Flight services on this route will commence
from September 25, 2014, and this will be SpiceJet’s first direct international flight
from Kolkata.
SpiceJet will be operating to Bangkok’s state-of-the-art Suvarnabhoomi airport from
Kolkata, from where numerous onward domestic and international connections are
available.

Announcing the new international flight, Sanjiv Kapoor, Chief Operating Officer,
SpiceJet Ltd, said, “It gives me
particular pleasure, as a Kolkata native, to announce the first ever direct
international SpiceJet flight from Kolkata. We believe there is tremendous
opportunity in the Kolkata – Bangkok market, and this flight will also connect
passengers to and from other Indian destinations to Bangkok via Kolkata.” Referring
to the upcoming festive season, he added “We have timed the launch of this flight
to co-incide with the start of the Puja Holidays and festive season. With Thailand
offering visa-on-arrival for Indians, and with our unbelievably low introductory
fare, there is no excuse now to postpone that long planned Thailand holiday”.
SpiceJet will deploy Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft on this route. Booking can be
